Platinum benefit
Rx Savings Decoder™
Photograph your pharmacy label. We name the generic of the same active ingredient, show what the brand and the generic cost pharmacies to buy, and list the pharmacies within five miles worth calling.
Take a photo of the pharmacy label, or choose one from your photos. It is read on your phone and never leaves it.
FirstPass provides medication and pricing information only. It does not prescribe, recommend, change or substitute medications. Always confirm availability and substitution with your pharmacist or prescriber.
Where the answers come from
Three federal sources, live
RxNorm
The National Library of Medicine drug vocabulary. It tells us the generic of the same active ingredient — never a different medicine.
openFDA
The FDA product directory, so we can say whether approved generics are actually on the market for your prescription.
NADAC
The federal survey of what pharmacies pay to acquire each drug, published weekly by CMS. It is the basis of the brand-versus-generic comparison.
What we still cannot tell you
The exact cash price a given pharmacy will charge you today. No public source publishes it, and we will not print a number that might be wrong at the counter. Until a retail price feed is connected, the Decoder gives you the federal benchmark and the question to ask — which is usually enough to tell whether a quote is fair.
